| Looks nice... I still think you need to put the bird on the hood that would set the paint off... |

| These pics don't do the paint justice at all. In the sunlight it REALLY pops and the flakes come out. At night it almost looks flat. |

Sorry for the lack of updates. I haven't actually done anything car-related since I tore up my transmission last May.
The car has actually been assembled almost a year; the pictures below are from March 20, 2009.
The bad/incomplete: Interior needs finishing. The dash looks "okay" at best; I recovered it using vinyl, but there are a couple of places that didn't adhere as well as I'd like and one spot that was damaged severely before recovering and didn't repair as nicely as I'd hoped for. It looks good enough for now, but will be replaced later. The car still needs a stereo/wiring, and the tachometer is pegged at 6k (not sure why). The gauges are done and working otherwise, IIRC.
The good/what's done: Paint is mostly acceptable; the hood and trunk lid need to be repainted due to some nasty tiger-striping. :( Other than that, I'm pleased with the result.
The interior is mostly done. The seats have been recovered, it has carpet, and everything looks pretty good. The interior is now black. The doors and other paneling have been replaced/redone to match.
The car is also titled/registered/insured, and is drivable. It has seats and seatbelts, etc. The pictures below show the car in 4x4 configuration. It has since been SLAMMED: the front wheels currently sit with ~0.5in gap between the tire and fender lip. It looks awesome, but unfortunately leaves about 2.5in of clearance between the headers and ground. :( We're going to try to bring it back up without using the drop spindles, but may have to go back to the originals.
I'll try to shoot some better/updated pics once the weather is nice enough to drive it and I find a place better suited for pictures.
My only complaint right now is that the shifter feels "sloppy;" there is too much play which makes it harder to find the gears than I'm used to (or I am too used to the T56..?).
Also, the car needs to be tuned. It is dumping a lot of fuel at idle and will need to be tuned at operating/higher rpm later (I have a wideband O2 for this). Because I grew up in the era after carburetors, I don't know anything about them; can anyone chime in here or give a reference?

That's beautiful man, congrats!
What carb do you have? I can help with Holley based carbs but would need to research Edelbrock or Quadrajets, never did much with those except replaced with Holley's.

Thanks! It's an Edelbrock carb. I can't imagine that it's too difficult to get the AFR close, I just don't know where to start. I'll probably hunt around to find some kind of guide online. :) |

Go do a search on PerformanceYears.com's forums. There's a guide that was posted a while back on tuning Edelbrock carbs. It should get you were you need to be.
