Yet again, but this time "just a written warning."
"You stopped 1 foot past the white line for the Stop sign, and didn't turn on your signal. You also have a frame on your rear license plate, that's illegal."
It was a T-intersection so I had to turn one way or the other, and I'd swear I used my signal, I *always* use them because I hate people that don't, but perhaps I didn't.
I can't believe I was pulled over for being a foot past the white line.
As for the License plate frame, I believe as long as it doesn't cover the word "Texas" or alter the visibility of the plate, it is legal. Luckily I don't have to go get a lawyer to fight this one as it was a warning.
I ended up asking the officer if I was being profiled, as this is the 3rd time I've been pulled over in less than 3 months, and stated I don't know what's going on, because I've owned this car for 10 years, my record is clean, and I don't recall getting pulled over like this in the last 15 years.
What do I need to do, sell off my 10 year old car that's paid off and make payments on a new car that I can't really afford currently in our economy?
It's a fvcking money grab I'm telling you, and I'm going to lawyer up from now on for any reason I'm pulled over. Pretty sad when I'd rather the LAWYERS get my $$ instead.

Ouija,
I would agree with profiling, however its car related and that won't hold up in court.
Your track worthy car with personal license plates, loud exhaust, and flashy purple accesories attracts attention. And I think it would be hard to talk yourself out of a ticket with the Roll Cage.
Be thankful you haven't been pulled over going 100MPH+ |

I just double checked on the way home.
There IS NOT A LINE on the ground at the intersection he pulled me over from. He specifically stated I was a foot or two past the line.
Therefore you have to use the laws about the sidewalks and where the stop sign is located, and an "invisible line protruding form the curb."
Don't tell me I crossed a line, hence the reason for the stop, when there isn't one there.
With knowing there isn't a physical "line" painted, that makes me question if he just made up the "no blinker" part as well, since I use them religiously.
All in all, I'm getting pretty pissed about this. |

| Well just because you drive a fast looking/sounding car doesn't mean its fast. lol I Have never been pulled over in my bird, and i have done some dumb shat in it. I think that your doing everything they said you were, in their head. They are looking at your car and thinking hmm here is some money, lets see what we can get out of this one. Only this time he could not get anything that would stand up in court. |
I DRIVE A 3RD GEN, BUT I LEFT 2ND AT HOME. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/BIG_J_420/MVC-164S.jpg

Ouija,
Why own a 10 year old 11 Second car that keeps getting you pulled over that you never get the opportunity to take it to the track. This economy has lots of good deals on other cars maybe you could get a 5th Gen thats newer and more reliable?
Wait around a year and think about it I am sure there will be some nice used 5th Gens around.
Your car would be a great candidate to sell on Craigslist as a Street Legal Drag Car.

It's paid off & reliable.
I don't really want to own a third coupe, and I really need a vehicle with a little more room next. |

meh, the 5th gens suck other than the fact they have the awesome LS3 as a heart.
have you guys actually sat in one of them? the visibility out the windows SUCKS, and i mean bad. blind spots galore
I think your idea of a 5 series BMW is a good idea. get a 535i and put a aftermarket tune on it.... it will have LS1 performance and yet be a quiet, nice cruising car |
